Sade Village
Home to one of the last fully-intact traditional Sasak villages, Desa Sade preserves a way of life virtually untouched by modern development — from bamboo-woven Bale Tani houses with floors polished using buffalo dung, to a matriarchal weaving tradition where girls learn to weave songket cloth from as young as seven. At the village center stands the "love tree," where local legend says grooms once symbolically "kidnapped" their brides during wedding rituals. Walking through Sade means stepping into a living museum — one where the culture on display isn't a performance, but daily life.
